Katina Athanasiou Steps into Senior Vice President Role at Celebrity Cruises
by Dori Saltzman /After much speculation about who would replace Dondra Ritzenthaler as senior vice president of sales at Celebrity Cruises, the cruise line has promoted Katina Athanasiou to the role.
Athanasiou had joined Celebrity as vice president of sales, the Americas in early January, moving from her position as head of sales at Silversea Cruises. She has been reporting to Ritzenthaler since then.
Athanasiou has more than 20 years of experience in the cruise industry. Prior to her time at Silversea, she spent seven years at Norwegian Cruise Line, where she most recently served as chief sales officer. She's also spent time at Prestige Cruise Holdings, Royal Caribbean International and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
